Starting a Garden
Starting a garden requires different levels of planning,
depending on what the gardener wishes to do. Gardens range between the
highly functional to the purely decorative. They also of course vary
in sizes and themes.
Many people will find themselves starting a garden for fruits, vegetables,
spices, and other growable edibles. Other gardens are grown full of
herbs and other items for their medicinal properties. Still other gardens
may be kept for the purposes of scientific study or the preservation
of rare plant species.
Starting a garden for aesthetic purposes is pretty common as well.
When this is done, it is important to take into context the area surrounding
the garden. This aids in formatting the garden to fit its environment,
producing an overall more harmonious atmosphere.
Of course, specific themes are also something to take into consideration.
Decorative gardens come in Zen, tropical, French formal, knot, and Persian
styles, among others.
